Our Story: Why We Were Founded
Louisiana Administrative Services for Small Businesses Corp (LAS) was established with a singular public mission: to ensure that rural small business owners and regional micro-enterprises do not fail due to a lack of technical infrastructure and back-office capacity.
Operating as an independent, public-benefit development incubator in the State of Louisiana, we were structured to remove the severe administrative overhead barriers that frequently prevent local entrepreneurs from achieving economic stability. While many rural business owners are deeply skilled in their specific trade, craft, or profession, they are often overwhelmed by complex regulatory compliance requirements, business organization demands, document archiving hurdles, and advanced technical systems.
We recognized a critical, unaddressed gap throughout Louisiana's industrial corridors for accessible, non-profit technical assistance. Through years of observing the challenges faced by micro-enterprises, particularly within underserved rural communities, it became clear that local business owners were spending vital operational hours fighting administrative burdens rather than stabilizing their companies.
Louisiana Administrative Services for Small Businesses Corp (LAS) was created to bridge this digital and administrative gap by securing public and private grant funding to deliver comprehensive back-office infrastructure, workforce training, and telemetry research networks at a no-cost or fully reinvested public track.
